Image-based Driver Alert System for Prevention of Fatigue-related Accidents

The objective of this project is to design a driver unconsciousness detection system using image processing detect drowsiness and in drivers, thereby preventing accidents resulting from fatigue. Driver fatigue serious road safety issue, with approximately 20% all attributed cause. Conventional systems rely on physiological monitoring, which can be unreliable, expensive, challenging implement maintain. In contrast, the proposed monitors sequence images identify facial behavioral patterns indicative or unconsciousness. By detecting landmark points analyzing duration eye closure, accurately classify driver’s state take appropriate measures such as reducing vehicle’s speed alerting emergency services geo-location. successful implementation holds immense potential for substantially number fatigue, mitigating loss lives injuries.
